Welcome to Clare Island Hostel “Go Explore Hostel Mayo” and Sailor’s Bar & Restaurant. We are a newly renovated budget hostel and bar near Westport on one of Ireland’s most beautiful and interesting westerly islands called Clare Island.
Go Explore Hostel and Sailor’s Bar & Restaurant is located in the House of the O’Donnell’s, landlords of the Clew Bay area in the mid 1800s, on top of a small cliff surrounded by open Atlantic waters. Purpose built in 2012, Go Explore Hostel, Clare Island has all modern facilities and hosts an in-house traditional bar with traditional music, dancing, food and fun. Sailor’s Bar & Restaurant is the Entertainment, Food & Accommodation epicentre on Clare Island hosting live acts such as Declan O’Rourke, Leo & Anto from the Sawdoctors, Paddy Casey and many more.
