Clare Island Annual Regatta 2013
Every Summer the Clare Island beach is the location for one of the West Coasts most hotly contested regattas. With a large number of races such as;
- Currach races (small traditional Irish fishing boats)
- Achill Yawl races
- Donkey races
- Egg and spoon races
- Tug of war
- And many more
There is plenty to do for all the family. It is open to all visitors to join in on the fun. The Currach races are a particular favourite with hot competition between the Clare Island teams and Inishturk teams (our neighbouring Island). There is also plenty of food and drinks served on the beach for the day with bouncy castles and more.
